Enrollment Process

1. Complete Application: Parents or guardians interested in enrolling their child in Attuned Community School start by completing an application form. This form collects basic information about the student and their family, along with any relevant educational background or special considerations.

2. Read Required Books: As part of the enrollment process, parents are required to read two books: "The Whole-Brain Child by Daniel J. Siegel M.D." and "Raising Free People: Unschooling as Liberation and Healing Work by Akilah S. Richards". These books provide valuable insights into child development, parenting strategies, and alternative educational philosophies, aligning with the ethos of Attuned Community School.

3. Attend Demo Day: Attuned Community School hosts a mandatory Demo Day event for prospective families. During Demo Day, parents and students have the opportunity to visit the school, meet teachers and staff, and participate in interactive sessions that showcase the school's philosophy, curriculum, and learning environment.

4. Make a Decision: After attending Demo Day and reading the required books, parents make a decision about whether Attuned Community School is the right fit for their child. They consider factors such as the school's values, teaching methods, and community atmosphere.

5. Pay Enrollment Fee: Upon deciding to enroll their child in Attuned Community School, parents pay an enrollment fee to secure their child's spot in the school. This fee covers administrative costs and contributes to the school's resources and programs.

6. Let Learning Begin: Once the enrollment fee is paid, the student officially begins their journey at Attuned Community School. They start attending classes, engaging with the school's curriculum, and participating in extracurricular activities.

By incorporating the required reading step into the enrollment process, Attuned Community School ensures that parents have a foundational understanding of key principles related to child development and alternative education before committing to enrollment. This helps to foster a shared understanding between the school and families, promoting a collaborative and supportive educational environment.
